A method and system for providing electronic information to a virtual mailbox based on a geographical address
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
Thanks to the widespread availability of e-mail, Facebook, LinkedIn, etc., you can keep in touch with friends, family and business partners in a very fast and efficient way. Contacting an uncle in New York is a piece of cake. Using Facebook takes just a second to tell your friends all over the world that you have just enjoyed a delicious pistachio ice cream.
However, communicating with your neighbors is much more difficult since most of them are not connected to networks. If you move to a new place of residence and want to invite your future neighbors, you must go outside, walk or cycle through the streets, and put a note in every physical mailbox. Companies that want to announce announcements of general interest to residents are also confronted with the same problem.
If you only know the street, neighborhood or municipality of people, you have to put a note in their mailbox, made up of real atoms, because there is no digital alternative.
That's why global brands, retailers, governmental organizations, political parties and small businesses continue to put huge amounts of unaddressed messages and brochures in people's mailboxes to get news
BE2015 / 0170, to make announcements or to promote their company. For example, an advertiser who wants to reach a certain geographic target area can have information delivered relatively easily to all postal addresses in a neighborhood on the basis of, for example, street addresses or a zip code. Although an electronic campaign often means a saving in resources and costs, it would be difficult to run a geographically targeted campaign using e-mail addresses without prior knowledge of a complete, correct and current e-mail address for each intended recipient.
In an attempt to provide a solution to the above problem, US 2007 043 846 (CANADA POST CORP) provides an interface that is used to receive information to be distributed to a geographic locator address; and an electronic content distribution module operatively coupled to the interface and used to determine an e-mail address uniquely associated with the geographic locator address, and to develop electronic content that includes the received information, which is available via the specified e-mail address.
A disadvantage of this system is that the geographic locator has its own electronic mailbox, meaning that content that is distributed to different mailboxes must be stored in each mailbox, which requires large amounts of storage space in the cloud or elsewhere.
Furthermore, the system requires a secure host system that monitors the electronic content
BE2015 / 0170 monitored via the e-mail address in accordance with a security policy. According to the security policy, at least one phase of user authentication may be required.
Given the above is it a goal of the present invention to a digital platform to provide for sending messages or information to a community by which just you a
geographical connection.
It is an object of the present invention to provide a digital platform where addressees only need to connect to the digital portal by entering their address (street, number and location), without further authentication.
Another advantage is that the distributed content does not require large amounts of storage space in the cloud or elsewhere.
In addition, the present invention enables everyone to reach more people faster, cheaper, more efficiently and at an affordable price. It enables a sender to deliver messages, invitations, leaflets for free or much cheaper than before. It offers better control over the messages and has a greater reach. An addressee can only select the desired information, there is no waste and the information can easily be forwarded to others. Summary of the invention:
The present invention relates to a method for delivering electronic information to a virtual mailbox based on one
BE2015 / 0170 geographic address comprising: storing a collection of physical locations that are each associated with the ID of a physical location in a database, storing a collection of data packets of electronic information in a digital library, each data packet being associated with a pointer, executing a query for retrieving pointers as a function of the physical location associated with the ID of a physical location of a recipient, thereby creating a recipient interface for access to the data packets with electronic information that are associated with the retrieved pointers.
Preferably, the physical locations are addresses of physical mailboxes or geographic coordinates of physical mailboxes. Furthermore, a stored information data package includes a data package with electronic information uploaded by a sender and the instructions of the sender define the distribution area.
In a preferred embodiment of the present invention, the query retrieves pointers as a function of the sender's instructions associated with stored data packets. Furthermore, the aforementioned query retrieves pointers as a function of the addressee's preferences and / or the addressee-interface stores preferences of the addressee with regard to the layout of the data packets with electronic information.
According to the present invention, a recipient makes a connection to the recipient interface
BE2015 / 0170 by entering the address of his physical letter box, or the geographic coordinates of his physical letter box, or by selecting his physical letter box on a map.
The addressee preferably responds to the content of a data package with electronic information or requests further electronic or physical information in connection with a data package with electronic information from the sender of said data package with electronic information.
The present invention further relates to a system for delivering electronic information to a virtual mailbox based on geographic address comprising: a database for storing a collection of physical locations that are each associated with the ID of a physical location, a digital library for storing a collection of data packets with electronic information, wherein each data packet is associated with a pointer, a processing unit for performing a query for retrieving pointers as a function of the physical location associated with the ID of a physical location of a recipient, means for creating a recipient interface for accessing data packets with electronic information associated with the retrieved pointers.
Preferably, said database comprises means for retrieving a collection of physical locations from a cadastral database.
BE2015 / 0170
In an embodiment of the present invention, a sender is enabled to upload a data packet with electronic information to the digital library and the processing unit includes filters for defining the distribution area based on the sender's instructions. Furthermore, said processing unit is arranged to define a distribution area by selecting physical locations, or by selecting an area on a map, or by selecting a perimeter around a physical location.
In another embodiment of the present invention, said processing unit includes filters for defining the distribution area via demographic statistics, or statistics generated based on the preferences of the addressee.
Accordingly, said processor is arranged to execute the query for retrieving pointers as a function of the sender's instructions associated with stored data packets.

The present invention further relates to a computer-readable medium comprising:
BE2015 / 0170 a database for storing a collection of physical locations that are each associated with the ID of a physical location, a digital library for storing a collection of data packets with electronic information, each data packet being associated with a pointer, a query for retrieving pointers as a function of the physical location associated with the ID of a physical location; means for creating a recipient interface for accessing the data packets with electronic information associated with the retrieved pointers.
Description of the invention
Furthermore, geographic coordinates must be understood as the latitude and longitude values for identifying a physical terrestrial location.
The present invention relates to a method for delivering electronic information to a virtual mailbox based on a geographic address comprising: storing a collection of physical locations that are each associated with the ID of a physical location in a database, the storing a collection of data packets of electronic information in a digital library, each data packet being associated with a pointer, performing a query for retrieving pointers as a function of the physical location associated with the ID of a physical location of a recipient, thereby creating a recipient interface for access to
BE2015 / 0170 the data packets with electronic information associated with the retrieved pointers.
After all, since the method according to the present invention stores a database comprising physical locations, the addressees are identified and stored without a separate manual registration or registration. Furthermore, based on such a database and the query, the method
addressees state to only the electronic data packets get it That be interesting on their physical location and this ON a very simple and
efficiently and at any time.
If the addressee changes the physical location, he / she will furthermore immediately have access to the relevant information based on the new physical location and without having to manually request a change in the stored database.
By implementing such a method, reaching people who are in direct contact with a geographical location is simple and efficient and without relying on manual registrations or direct requests and certainly without relying on physical delivery services. In addition, addressees have direct and easy access to a full range of electronic data packages for their physical location at any time.
Another advantage is that addressees do not have to rely on the physical delivery of a paper copy or on the physical safety of their physical letterbox.
BE2015 / 0170
A further advantage of a method according to the present invention is the limited storage space required. By assigning a pointer to each electronic data package, only a large database of data packages is needed, whereby the selection is made by the query based on the physical location.
Preferably, the physical location includes information about the physical address data selected from a group comprising: country name, province, city name, zip code, street name, house number, mailbox, geographic coordinates: latitude / longitude, or a combination thereof.
For easier retrieval of all relevant physical locations, the method of the present invention retrieves a collection of physical locations from a public or private cadastral database. The method can further retrieve physical locations from a series of databases and store them. It is not excluded that such a database is able to store new physical locations that have been added manually.
In an embodiment of the present invention, the physical locations are associated with addresses of physical mailboxes or mailboxes or geographical coordinates such as latitude and longitude of such a physical letterbox.
In another embodiment of the present invention, a sender is able to upload a data package with electronic information and define instructions if the pointer associated with such a data package is to be
BE2015 / 0170 retrieved on the addressee interface, by defining the distribution area. Consequently, if an addressee identifies himself with a physical location within the defined distribution area, the pointer associated with the data packet with electronic information is displayed on the addressee interface. If such a location is not within the defined distribution area, the pointer is not displayed on the addressee interface. Due to the specific characteristics of the query, the addressee will have a complete collection of data packets with electronic information relevant to his physical location.
The sender of a data package with electronic information defines the distribution area via a method selected from a group comprising: selecting physical locations by manual calculation of such physical locations, selecting an area on a map, or selecting a perimeter around a physical location, or selecting a radius around a physical location, or a combination thereof.
In a further embodiment according to the present invention, the sender defines the distribution area taking into account demographic statistics such as statistics on average income, or majority of nationalities, or statistics generated based on the preferences of the addressee such as existing or previously defined filters (for example: the nature of the service, the product or the store) or business
BE2015 / 0170 statistics. By applying such a selection criterion, the sender ensures that the information data package reaches a specific target group.
If a sender defines the distribution area, the method applies a query to the database comprising the collection of physical locations and identifies all addresses of physical mailboxes or geographical coordinates of physical mailboxes in the defined distribution area.
If a addressee connects to the addressee interface by calculating his / her geographical address, the method applies a query for retrieving pointers as a function of the sender's instructions associated with stored data packets, by verifying of the addressee's location based on the sender's instructions.
In a further embodiment according to the present invention, an addressee is able to define an area for which he / she wants data packets with electronic information. Consequently, if such a person moves regularly between two physical locations, he / she will have access to the required information each time a connection is made to the addressee interface.
In a further embodiment according to the present invention, an addressee is able to upload an electronic data package.
For easier retrieval of information, the method according to the present invention classifies the data packets with electronic information
BE2015 / 0170 categories. In a further embodiment, the method classifies the data packets with electronic information into categories based on the content, with categories such as: shopping, entertainment, restaurants, events, or file extension, or size, or timestamp (time of availability), or a combination thereof.
The addressee is furthermore able to define filters on his / her addressee interface to only receive relevant information the next time he connects to such an interface. It will be clear that the addressee can change said filters at any time. By defining such filters, the query retrieves pointers as a function of the recipient's preferences and further stores the recipient's preferences with regard to the categories when the recipient connects to his / her recipient interface. The addressee is furthermore able to define filters at specific relevant locations.
To connect to the addressee interface, said addressee enters the address of his physical mailbox, or the geographic coordinates of his physical mailbox, or the addressee selects his physical mailbox on a map. By performing such a step, the physical location of a physical letter box is linked to a virtual space in which paper is replaced by pointers.
In a further embodiment of the present invention, the method requires the
BE2015 / 0170 addressee to enter additional credentials if the addressee creates filters on his / her interface, such as credentials selected from a group comprising: an existing e-mail account (for example: Gmail, Yahoo mail etc.) or an existing account (such as : Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, etc.) or a method of authenticating the place of residence, such as: sending a code or a password through traditional paper mail, such a code or password is used as authentication the next time that connection is made to the interface. The same credentials are required if the addressee uploads an electronic data package.
In another embodiment of the present invention, the ID of a physical location of an addressee is generated by interpolating the width coordinates and / or length coordinates and / or the address of the physical location such as: the country and / or the province and / or city name and / or street name and / or house number and / or building number and / or PO box. The result of the aforementioned interpolation is a unique character vector that is further stored in the database.
In a further embodiment, characters are associated with digits such that the city name has an associated numeric code and / or the street name has an associated numeric code. In such a case, the result of said interpolation becomes a number string in the form of whole or large integer.
BE2015 / 0170
Further, when a person connects to his / her addressee interface, the method according to the present invention performs various queries, from macro to micro query: first query for determining pointers that coincide with the physical location of the addressee; determine with a second query which pointers of the first query coincide with the preferences of the addressee, etc.
In another embodiment of the present invention, the addressee may respond to the contents of a data package with electronic information or request additional electronic or physical information (receipt, paper brochures, etc.) about a data package with electronic information. The sender of the data package with electronic information can incorporate such a possibility via the defined instructions.
The present invention further relates to a system for delivering electronic information to a virtual mailbox based on geographic address comprising: a database for storing a collection of physical locations that are each associated with the ID of a physical location, a digital library for storing a collection of data packets with electronic information, each data packet being associated with a pointer, a processing unit for executing a guery for retrieving pointers as a function of the physical location associated with the ID of a physical location of a recipient, means for creating a
BE2015 / 0170 addressee interface for access to data packets with electronic information associated with the retrieved pointers.
Furthermore, said system comprises means for receiving physical locations from a cadastral database. Such a cadastral database is a public or private database, or a combination thereof. The information retrieved from said cadastral database includes information about the physical location of physical mailboxes such as addresses of physical mailboxes or geographical coordinates of physical mailboxes.
The system according to the present invention enables a sender to upload a data package with electronic information to the digital library. Furthermore, said processing unit comprises filters for defining the distribution area based on instructions from the sender. Based on these instructions, the pointer associated with a data package with electronic information reaches the geographic locations that are part of said distribution area. Furthermore, said processing unit is arranged to define a distribution area by selecting physical locations, or by selecting an area on a map, or by selecting a perimeter around a physical location.
In a further embodiment according to the present invention , states the processing unit from said system the sender capable of filters to to define in front ofit to define from it
BE2015 / 0170 distribution through demographic statistics such as statistics on average income, or majority of nationalities, or statistics generated based on the preferences of the addressee such as existing or previously defined filters (for example: the nature of the service, the product or the store) or business statistics. By applying such a selection criterion, the sender ensures that the information data package reaches a specific target group.
Accordingly, the processing unit is arranged to execute the query for retrieving pointers as a function of the sender's instructions associated with stored data packets.
For easier retrieval of information, the digital library contains means for classifying the data packets with electronic information. In a further embodiment, the method classifies the data packets with electronic information into categories based on the content, with categories such as: shopping, entertainment, restaurants, events, or file extension, or size, or timestamp (time of availability), or a combination thereof.
To facilitate the retrieval of the most relevant data, the database allows the storage of preferences of the addressee with regard to the categories.
In a further embodiment of the present invention, the system comprises a portal
BE2015 / 0170 that enables a recipient to connect to the recipient interface by entering the address of his physical mailbox, or the geographic coordinates of his physical mailbox, or by selecting his physical mailbox on a map.
In a further embodiment according to the present invention, the system asks if such a recipient wants to upload a data packet with electronic information or if said recipient defines filters on the recipient interface to enter his / her credentials. Such credentials are selected from a group comprising: an existing e-mail account (for example: Gmail, Yahoo mail, etc.) or an existing account (such as: Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter etc.) or a method of authenticating the place of residence, such as : by sending a code or password through traditional paper mail, such a code or password is used as authentication the next time the connection is made to the interface.
In a further embodiment, the system according to the present invention comprises means for enabling the addressee to respond to the content of a data package with electronic information or to request additional electronic or physical information (receipt, paper brochures, etc.) about a data package with electronic information. The sender of the data package with electronic information can
BE2015 / 0170 incorporate such a possibility through the defined instructions.
The present invention further relates to a computer-readable medium comprising: a database for storing a collection of physical locations that are each associated with the ID of a physical location, a digital library for storing a collection of data packets with electronic information, wherein each data packet is associated with a pointer, a query for retrieving pointers as a function of the physical location associated with the ID of a physical location, means for creating a recipient interface for access to the data packets with electronic information that are associated with the retrieved pointers.
EXAMPLE 1
The present invention optimizes various interactions between a virtual mailbox and a physical letterbox as described below.
In the context of this example, the virtual mailbox should be understood as the web-based recipient interface based on the physical location of a physical mailbox.
A personal and / or collective address is required to display the contents of this addressee interface. This can be a simple 2-click registration on a web page where the addressee is identified. The address of such a recipient interface can be from a few seconds to
BE2015 / 0170 exist forever. The legitimate user of the personal and / or collective address is referred to as 'addressee'.
An addressee interface must be understood as a virtual mailbox for which 'personal and / or collective addressee rights' exist, such as a personal mailbox, a personal delivery point, a shared delivery point or other physical delivery points. Such address rights can last from a few seconds to infinity. The rightful owner of the address rights is called the "address owner". The ownership of the addressee interface may belong to the addressee or may belong to a third party who has granted the addressee the legal addressee rights at the physical delivery point.
The addressee and the address owner can be one and the same or a different person. If they are different, they must work together. Together they are referred to as 'address managers'.
All optimized interactions require prior one-time and / or repeated approval by the address manager of the registration of the link between the virtual mailbox and the geographic location of the physical mailbox.
The aforementioned approval must be understood as the process between the time the address managers decide to legally identify themselves and the effective registration in an appropriate infrastructure.
BE2015 / 0170
The registration shall to exist for specific transactions and for a period of time that by the address managers is going to be recorded during the
registration process. The registration can be canceled by the address owner or by the addressee or by a third party with legal rights to intervene in this matter.
The present invention provides a digital platform designed to upload and distribute messages and other information to a community with which the addressee or address managers only have a geographic connection.
This supports digital geographic communication with an audience whose sender only knows the geographic location of the intended addressees.
The connection via portal registration allows the addressee to consult his addressee interface and to leave messages for people as a digital alternative to a letter in their real mailbox, but for a wider audience to all addresses in his street, village for example , or a certain circle around its physical location. The messages can be ordinary letters, invitations, news messages or advertising brochures.
This innovative digital service meets the needs of individuals for occasions when they want to reach other people in the neighborhood. For global brands, retailers and the government, the use of this service can lead to huge savings in communication costs.
BE2015 / 0170
The service allows users to opt for virtual advertising brochures instead of physical folders of brands. This choice prevents physical delivery in the physical letterbox. This is supported by notification to the delivery person via mobile / portable equipment.
As mentioned above, by entering their address (street, number and location) on the portal, users are able to consult and read the contents of their addressee interface. A more detailed registration will allow them to spread messages, invitations, news messages, etc. to other people in their neighborhood (or further away) as a digital alternative to a letter in the physical letterbox.
The present invention can also be integrated into other internet services that are used on a larger scale and can provide a regular overview of the contents of the virtual mailbox on a social network of your choice (such as Facebook, Twitter ...), to a personal e-mail address or he can choose to use the present invention on mobile devices to consult his addressee interface.
The back-end is driven by an SQL database of all geographical addresses that are linked to a virtual mailbox. It is equipped with all user interactions, reporting and measurement tools, payment transactions and an API to connect to services of other third parties. The front end can be accessed via one
BE2015 / 0170 web browser or a mobile app for iOS, Android and Windows RT.
EXAMPLE OF A BUSINESS MODEL
The basic model of the service is 'freemium'.
All messages for non-commercial use within a certain time frame and for a limited number of users are free. This means that uploading and distributing information is free for most senders and small non-profit organizations.
Costs are charged for all commercial messages based on a payment system with credits. The costs consist of a limited delivery contribution for delivery to the addressee interfaces and a pay-per-view contribution based on the data actually displayed.
Potential business opportunities:
-increase in revenue if folder is consulted in addressee interface.
-increase in revenue if physical delivery is avoided by notifying the delivery person
-mining of addressing of the virtual folder by address owner and forwarding of this information
-use of mining info for physical delivery (samples ...)
- merging of virtual folders
- address owner can request physical delivery
-address owner can receive notification from virtual mailbox if there are certain 'commercial actions' in the folder
BE2015 / 0170
- publishers can distribute to address owners in geographic community
EXAMPLE OF ADDITION OF A QUERY:
A sender of a query according to the present invention opens a web page and identifies himself via his physical address corresponding to his personal identification. When accessing the option to run a query, the system asks for a further check through existing login information or through a physical letter with a code sent to that specific physical address.
Once the check has been performed, the system recognizes the personal identification as authorized to perform a query.
The sender defines a name for the query and, in the case of an announcement, the sender is able to add a text message at a designated location. If documents need to be attached to the query, the system according to the present invention allows the sender to add such a document regardless of the format.
In a further step, the sender is asked about the length of time associated with such a query, the sender is able to either select an end date by manually entering the date in a specified format, or by selecting a time frame from a type of choice calendar, or by selecting a time frame such as, for example, a month, two months, half a year, etc., or a start date and an end date via a type of choice calendar.
BE2015 / 0170
Depending on the content of the query, the sender is able to select the category under which it will be stored by the system.
The sender of the query further determines the geographic area associated with such a query by choosing a parameter selected from a group comprising: a street name, or a zip code, or a city, or a country or a combination thereof. Another possibility for selecting the geographic area associated with the query is direct delimitation on a map provided by the system using tools such as: drawing a line or circle or an undefined form on the aforementioned card. The sender can further instruct the system to take into account the addresses retrieved from the database within the selected geographical area, or the sender can further define a radius around the defined geographical area. The system will then ensure that the query is visible to all addresses retrieved from the database within the defined radius and the addresses within the selected geographical area.
If a person consults the web page and enters such an address, the system will check accordingly if such an address is within the defined geographical area. If the check is positive, the system makes the query visible to him / her. If the check is negative, the query is not visible to this person.
BE2015 / 0170
EXAMPLE OF CREDIT CALCULATION:
After a sender of a data package with electronic information has added a query via the method described above, the system counts the number of addresses in the defined geographical area and displays them simultaneously on a map.
Based on the number of identified addresses, the system according to the present invention determines how many credits the sender must have on his identification page. If the sender has no credits on his identification page, the system will ask you to add the total number of credits for that query and block them during the selected time period. If the sender has a certain amount of credits on his identification page, the system will subtract the amount determined for the query from the available number and block the credits and if the amount is insufficient, ask the user to add the rest on his identification page add.
In a further step, the system can thus determine the number of views for such a query by applying a statistical function to previous queries of the same category, preferably from the same area, but it will be clear that these statistical functions also in other geographical areas can be applied.
Based on such an approach, the system asks the sender to block the amount of credits corresponding to the approach.
BE2015 / 0170
Once a person who identifies himself with a physical address in the selected geographical area sees the query, the system increments the counter by one and deducts a credit. At the end of the time interval associated with the query, the system creates an overview and updates the sender's identification page.
It will be clear that the counter starts from 0 for every new query that is added.
In another embodiment of the present invention, the counter may be a specific counter for each sender, with information about all queries added by said sender. In such a case, the system according to the present invention makes an overview of the credits during a certain period of time taking into account the complete set of queries or each individual query, or in a specific geographical area, such as for example: within a country, a province, city, a neighborhood or a street.
Preferably, the sender is able to select the counter type and analysis to be performed on his / her identification page.
